HSCL Policy and Procedures
The Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) scheme aims to improve educational outcomes for the students most at risk of poor attendance, participation and retention.
This is achieved by working with the parents or guardians of students who are experiencing, or are likely to experience, educational disadvantages.
Procedures when assigning HSCL Coordinators
The Board of Management has fully adopted the department’s Circular 0016/2019 Home School Community Liaison Scheme: Assignment of Home School Community Liaison Coordinators within DEIS schools outlines the regulations and procedures that must be put in place when assigning HSCL Coordinators within DEIS schools.
There is an amended version of Guidelines on the use of the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Grant within Circular 0016/2019(Section six).
The Department of Education remains responsible for the allocation of HSCL Coordinators to schools.
Scoil N. An Chroí Ró Naofa currently has one full-time HSCL teacher.

This policy was adopted by the Board of Management on 27th September 2023.
This policy will be made available to school personnel. The policy will be published on the school website and made available to parents/carers and pupils in hardcopy upon request. A copy of this policy will be made available to the Department and the patron if requested.
This policy and its implementation will be reviewed by the Board of Management once in every 3 years.
