Swimming 2023/2024
All three of our 4th classes have now completed eight weeks of swimming lessons. The children have put a huge effort into improving their swimming skills and some children even learning to swim for the first time. They had loads of fun and we are all very proud of them. They have received brilliant feedback from their instructors, who were really impressed by the listening, learning and respect that all the children showed during lessons.

I love swimming. Swimming is so much fun. When I went swimming, I had the best time ever. It was so much fun. I highly recommend going to Tallaght Leisure Centre to learn how to swim. My favourite part was learning how to swim. It’s so good and the coaches are so kind. By Hollie Reid, Ms. Domican’s 4th Class.
I think swimming is so fun. When I went swimming, I taught is was so fun and I learnt how to swim. I had so much fun. Our coach was so funny and I’m pretty sure my friends liked it to. It has been a wonderful year in 4th Class!
We were involved in our Creative School’s week in the month of May.
Some of the activities we participated in were drama workshops, a Bodhran Buzz workshop and many artistic and drawing activities.
We helped develop our Green School’s Wildflower Garden.
We visited Tallaght library for Seachtaine na Gaeilge and listened to a storyteller.
A junk art workshop run by Eco-Unesco worked with us this year.
We were also involved in a TU Dublin Microscope project.
Drama classes are going on every Wednesday for all in 4th Class.
We worked with Recreate to remodel and re-use recycled plastic for art.
We are so excited for our Sport’s Day, the X Factor competition and our school tour to Redhills Adventure Centre in Kildare.
On the 18th May, Ana from TUDublin came to the school and told 4th class all about microbiology and how scientists use microscopes every day. She brought in all sorts of objects like insects, flowers, grass, rocks and seeds and the children got to explore them up close with their portable microscopes. It was a fantastic workshop and we are hoping Ana will come back to teach us more about STEM next year.
